Frequently asked questions

How do I summon a Donkey in Minecraft?
Enable cheats or use OP, open chat with T or /, paste /summon minecraft:donkey ~ ~ ~ (Java) or /summon donkey ~ ~ ~ (Bedrock), and press Enter. The Donkey spawns at your feet.
Does the summon Donkey command work on Bedrock Edition?
Yes — use /summon donkey ~ ~ ~. Bedrock uses the same entity IDs without the "minecraft:" prefix and does not support NBT arguments like custom names in the summon command.
Why does my summoned Donkey despawn?
Mobs despawn when no players are nearby. On Java Edition, add {PersistenceRequired:1b} to the summon command to prevent it. On Bedrock, use a name tag on the mob after summoning.
