Summon a Villager

Summon a Villager

Spawn a villager for trading or repopulating a village. Run: /summon villager. Spawns an unemployed adult villager at your position. Place a job-site block next to it (lectern for a librarian, brewing stand for a cleric, etc.) and it takes that profession and starts offering trades. On Java you can set the profession directly with NBT, e.g. {VillagerData:{profession:"minecraft:librarian",level:1}}. Works on Java 26.2 and Bedrock 26.32. Last verified June 2026.
